Brooks Sandwich House has been feeding Charlotte from the same 500-square-foot cinder block building since 1973, long before NoDa was NoDa. The menu is famously simple: 'all-the-way' burgers topped with mustard, onions, and a secret-recipe chili, alongside hot dogs, livermush sandwiches, and crispy wedge fries. The restaurant is cash-only (ATM on-site) and closes by mid-afternoon. Founded by Calvin 'C.T.' Brooks and carried on by his sons, it's a genuine piece of Charlotte history in a neighborhood that has transformed around it.
